Bangalore to Srinagar
You will connect, and that changes the plan.
There is no dependable nonstop from Bangalore to Srinagar. Delhi is the usual connection and Mumbai the alternative, and either way you are looking at five and a half to seven hours in total.
Take the first departure out of Bangalore. The earliest connection puts you in Srinagar by early afternoon with the day still usable; anything later and you either land at dusk or overnight in Delhi, and an overnight in Delhi is a night you paid for in the valley.
It is effectively a full travel day in each direction, and that single fact should shape how long you go for more than anything else on this page.

When to go from Bangalore
Your calendar, not the valley’s.
Seven days. From Bangalore a four-night trip is two days of flying for three days in the valley, and we will say so before you book rather than after.
December to February — the snow
Most people booking from Bangalore are coming for something they cannot see at home, and Gulmarg in January is the trip they actually want. Worth knowing before you book: nobody can promise snow on a given date, the Gondola's second stage closes for wind fairly often, and the road up from Tangmarg occasionally needs a chained vehicle. We plan a spare afternoon into winter itineraries for exactly this reason.
April, for the tulips
Three weeks or so from late March, dates set by the winter rather than the calendar. Pair it with Gulmarg, which still has snow at the top of the Gondola well into April, and you get both halves of Kashmir in one week.
What to skip
A short trip in the shoulder months. November is between seasons — too bare for the meadows, too early for reliable snow — and from Bangalore it is a lot of flying for a valley that is having an off week.

- Is there a direct flight from Bangalore to Srinagar?
- No, not on a dependable basis. You will connect, almost always in Delhi, occasionally in Mumbai. Total travel time is five and a half to seven hours.
- How many days do we need from Bangalore?
- Seven, and we would rather talk you into that than sell you a short trip you regret. A travel day at each end means a four-night itinerary leaves you three usable days, which is not enough to see Gulmarg and Pahalgam properly.
- Will we definitely see snow?
- Between late December and February the odds are very good at Gulmarg, and at the top of the Gondola there is snow well into April. But no operator can guarantee it on your dates, and anyone who does is guessing. What we can do is build the itinerary with a spare afternoon so a wind closure doesn't cost you the whole thing.
- Is it suitable for children and older parents coming from sea level?
- Kashmir, yes — Srinagar is only 1,585 m and the highest you go on a valley itinerary is the Gondola, which is a cable car rather than a climb. Ladakh is a different question: Leh is 3,500 m and every itinerary we run there has genuine acclimatisation days built in, which is not optional at any age.
